Q

What is a 'Notice of Correction'?

Q

What is a Footprint?

A

The three credit bureaus in the UK (Callcredit, Experian and Equifax) are obliged to leave an assortment of footprints on consumers’ credit files for varying reasons.

Our AML Search utilises the Callcredit CallML search which leaves a footprint as required by the Joint Money Laundering Steering Group Guidelines 5.3.33.

This AML footprint does not have a detrimental effect on an individual’s credit score/rating however, the footprint type left when searching for the purposes of credit granting are factored into lenders’ criteria. Hence, accumulating them can be disadvantageous to one’s credit score.

The individual can view their credit file and the evidence left of the search (the footprint) allows them to see who searched on them and therefore ensure that the search was done with permission.
